Sometimes, we get some Tibet lamb plates with color issues or other flaws. This is one of those flawed plates that is sold at a discounted price.

Tibet lamb have long soft curly hair. Our Tibet lamb plates and rugs are very popular among designers. They are used in home decor and fashion design. They make ideal rugs and pillows. Tibet lamb are also used for making dolls and Teddy Bears.

We offer probably the world's largest selection of Tibet lamb: more than 50 colors! We get new shipments on a regular basis.

We are using the six-digit Pantone Fashion and Home color system for communicating colors between customers and the factory in China. Full reference books or color chip cards are available from Pantone. If you have an old sample book please click the "Codes" tab.

While we may supply the Doll-Hair market, please note we supply Tibet Lamb PLATES, not loose hair. Please advise of any specific requirements when ordering.

Tibet lamb are not an endangered species. The skins are a by-product of the food industry - the animals are not killed just for their hides.

The Tibet Lambskin Plates measure approximately 22" by 45". They are not perfect rectangles. The hair is approximately 6" to 7" in length, but can be as short as 4"-5". Each plate weighs between 1.5 to 2 pounds.

Each plate is made from sewing various skins together. Seams are not visible from the fur side.

    Do not dry clean

Do not dry clean the the Tibet lamb blanket as the dry cleaning process will remove the natural oils from the lamb skin. For Washing Instructions see Eucalan? Wool Wash.

    A Note On Odor

Please note that the dyed lamb blanket do have a chemical odor as a result of being dyed. They may also have a mothball odor as well because we have to prevent bugs from getting into the lamb skin. You can reduce this odor by either airing the rug out or by tumbling the lamb blanket in a dryer with a dryer sheet on very low heat for no more than five minutes. Any more than this will shrink the lamb skin and you will no longer have the option to return them if unsatisfied. If you're worried that the lamb skin may leave an odor in your dryer, we suggest you use a public laundromat.

We have three sets of codes for our colors because we used to get sample books from our tannery. The first column is the original codes that we use. Then, our tannery changed the codes and colors to create a completely new sample book with codes starting with HQ.

We have tried to match the new sample book codes to our old sample book codes. Those marked with an * are not an exact color match but is the closest match we can find. Click HERE to see a PDF of a legend to show which codes in Sample Book 1 correspond to Sample Book 2.

Unfortunately, both sample books have been discontinued. As of February 2012, we are using the six-digit Pantone Fashion and Home color system for communicating colors between customers and our factory in China.
