South African Sea Safari & Wine Tastings

Are you already tired of short days and the cold winter weather in the United States? It is now early summer in Cape Town, South Africa. The shortest day of the year in the northern hemisphere is coming on December 21st. Go to the other side of the planet and it is the longest day of the year instead. Lots of sunshine and life-giving warmth.

Chichester, Inc., was named in honor of Sir Francis Chichester, a childhood hero who was a famous aviator and sailor from England. Chichester became the first person to sail around the world, single-handed, with only one stop in Australia and came back to England as a national hero and was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II.

Sailing has been part of my life since I was a teenager. As a member of the Royal Cape Yacht Club in Cape Town, I have contacts there to arrange yacht charters of any length desired, from a single afternoon outing to a month-long expedition to Madagascar or St. Helena.

We can help you charter a large catamaran for the day to sample the best wines of South Africa. You can take up to 10 individuals and get the entire yacht for your private use for the day.

Prices start at US$1,800 for the day with 10 pre-selected bottles of wine (our choice): one bottle of white and one bottle of red from each of the five best vineyards in the Cape:

• Groot Constantia Wine Farm
• Jordan Vineyard & Winery
• Speir Wine Farm
• Neethlingshof Estate

You can specify specific bottles if you wish for an additional fee as prices can vary dramatically.

Includes hors d'oeuvres and a sea fish grill or vegetarian options for lunch.

Extravagant extras, such as caviar, cigars, bottles of Dom Perignon, an officiant for weddings, live music, a DJ, masseuse, or flowers can be arranged separately.

The typical tour starts at 10:00 a.m. to allow you a leisurely breakfast at your hotel and transfer to the yacht and ends around 4:00 p.m. to keep your evening free.

This offer only covers the cost of the yacht charter, wine, hors d'oeuvres, and lunch. Airfare, hotels, transfers, and other costs are not included, but can be arranged for an additional fee through one of our partners.

Bookings are subject to availability and are only confirmed after a 30% deposit has been made with the balance due 45 days prior to the reserved date.

Cancellation is allowed with a 15% booking fee deducted up to 45 days prior to the reserved date. No refunds 45 days prior to the reserved date.

Tours proceed rain or shine. If our captain determines that weather conditions do not allow for the tour to commence safely, a full refund will be issued or the date rescheduled if possible.

Payment is in U.S. dollars and all bookings are made through our licensed travel partner in Toronto, Canada.
