Elk Leather Scrap

These are scrap leather from elk leather hides tanned using a method that emulates the traditional brain-tanning process. They come in different sizes and shapes. These commercial brain-tanned hides have a smoky smell and are supple. Elk are not an endangered species, and are not killed just for their skins. A U.S. Fish & Wildlife export permit is required for all shipments outside of the United States.

This is 3 to 3.5 ounce topgrain elk leather. It has a smooth side (skin side) and a rough side (suede side). The smaller pieces are 3" by 6" or so and are good for trim and making medicine bags, etc. Nearly all of this material is prairie gold color.Elk are not endangered.A U.S. Fish & Wildlife export permit is required for all shipments outside the U.S.
