From start to finish these carvings are done by hand. The Ojibwa artisans source the wood from Sumac trees harvested in Canada and each piece is hand carved. Each carving is unique. The design emphasizes the contrast of the bark pith and the wood grain. The design has a graceful fluidity. The totem village is a cute combination of our Birchbark Tee-Pee with Canoe and Ojibwa Totem Pole. The totem and tee-pee are approximately 4.25" tall and 6" wide at the base.  They weigh about 1.7 ounces (48 grams).
