On the full cow skins, there are variations in the thickness of the skin. The neck is very thick and the bellies are thinner. The cow rawhide was de-haired, cured, stretched, and dried. They come rolled up.
The Full hides average 35-40 square feet. The Thick rawhides are 1.6-3.2 mm thick (4-7 oz.). However, the thickness does vary from disc to disc so if you need a particular thickness for your rawhide, please check with us beforehand.
Rawhide is also referred to as parchment or vellum.
Cows are not an endangered species. The rawhide is a by-product of the food industry. The cows are not killed just for the skin.
