You should be able to cut four 24” rounds from a #1 grade elk rawhide. There may be holes or other defects. There are little pieces of hair on the rawhide.
Elk rawhide is ideal for making drums, lamp shades, and other crafts. The approximate square footage on a roll of rawhide is 25 sq. ft. An average hide is approximately 6' long by 4' wide. Elk rawhide is thicker than deer rawhide.
Rawhide is also referred to as parchment or vellum.
