These tanned karakul or broadtail lamb skins are among the best selection in the world. These are small skins with a useable area of less than one square feet. The hair is wavy, not tightly curled like our broadtail lamb. They are approximately 20" to 30" long and 10" to 13" wide down the middle. Each skin weighs 0.8 to 0.28 pounds. They can be used to make various clothing items, such as the karakul hat. We only stock small quantities in black, brown, or gray. The manufacturer in Israel gets their skins from farmers in Bukhara, Uzbekistan. The coat plates are sewn by hand in Israel. These top quality plates are available in black, sur brown, and gray. It has a beautiful mohare.
