The Goliath birdwing is the a birdwing butterfly found in Papua New Guinea. With a wingspan of up to 28 centimeters (11 inches), it is the second largest butterfly in the world after the Queen Alexandra's birdwing. The males have black forewings with green costal edges and large green triangles and golden hindwings with black edges bordered with a green line. Females are larger than the males and are dark brown with white spots and a broad yellow band with a chain of dark brown spots on the hindwings.
This butterfly is subject to CITES II and is not for export outside of the United States.
