These are quality deerskin leather laces. We currently offer them in nine colors on 50' spools. The laces come in two widths: 1/8" and 3/16". The 1/8" lacing is approximately 1.5 mm to 2 mm (0.06" to 0.08") thick. The lacing on each roll is continuous - i.e., they are spliced in the factory to produce a continuous length. These laces are tanned then dyed. They come from different dye lots so there will be some variation in color. Also expect some variation in width as deerskin is very hard to cut to a consistent width.
A U.S. Fish and Wildlife export permit is required for exports.
The deer hides used to make the deerskin laces come from leather that originates from a licensed annual legal hunt used to reduce the number of deer in the wild to keep them from overpopulating their territory. In nearly all cases, the hunters use the meat from the deer for food and the antlers for crafts or decoration.
