We sell assorted premium leather scrap in 1/2 lb. (8 oz.) bags and by the pound. The 8 oz. bags contain lightweight (<4 oz. weight) suede scrap in assorted cow, goat, pig, or deer leathers. The scraps sold by the pound are nice lightweight leather. Colors range from earth tones to brighter colors. This scrap comes in different shapes, sizes, and colors. Unfortunately, we can not sort this product and cannot guarantee similar colors and shapes throughout an order.

These are tanned white-tailed, or whitetail, deer skins. They have a reddish-brown coat in the spring and summer that turns to gray-brown in the fall and winter. This deer has a distinctive white underside to its tail. Please note that deer have a hollow hair and are not ideal for rugs. If you walk on them or let a large dog sit on them, the hair will break and shed over time. Heavy and durable are the two words that best describe our topgrain elk leather. This leather is similar to moose leather - but at just a fraction of its price ;-). Similarly, they are grainy and suitable for making moccasins or gloves. It can be used for projects needing big continuous piece of leather that is sturdy, soft and pliable.These are near perfect hides, allows for 1-2 small defects in the prime cutting areas and 3-4 defects across the rest of the hide.

The goat rawhide is thin and therefore ideal for making smaller hand drums, lamp shades, and craft projects. The pieces are very clean and are not full of holes.
