This is a prairie 2.5 to 3 oz. gold reverse deer leather piece.  Reverse leather is bad grain (lots of damage, stains, on the hide side, etc.), with a good suede side. This is caused by poor salting/preservation of the hide or letting it sit too long before tanning. A U.S. Fish & Wildlife export permit is required for all shipments outside the U.S.

We work with a tannery in Canada that tans salmon skins. We only sell full skins. The skins measure 19 - 23" (48 - 58 cm) long and 3 - 5" (8 - 12 cm) wide. These skins are "with scale". There is no tail or head. Salmon are not an endangered species. The skins are a by-product of the fishing industry. The salmon have not been killed just for the skin.

This is full grain North American bison (buffalo) leather. The difference between our Buffalo Upsholstry Leather styles is in the texture and finish. These are sold by the half hides which range in size from 11 to 23 sq. ft. The Santa Fe buffalo leather is heavier at 5-6 oz. and is veg-tanned. The Santa Fe buffalo leather can be used to make belts. The buffalo are not killed just for the hides. The hides are a by-product of the meat industry. Domesticated buffalo are not endangered. ...
